Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a benign skin condition that causes a loss of pigmentation in the skin resulting in light or white patches. It occurs when the cells that give the skin its color or pigment are destroyed. Lesions of vitiligo can occur anywhere on the body, but are most notable on the face, hands, and genitalia. There is no known cure for the disease; however, there are several treatments which can improve the appearance of the light spots.
